Beginning of Calendric Time

A composite view of the skies over ancient Egypt as a basis for calendric time. The view from the south to the north shows the sun rising in the constellation Leo at the eastern horizon above the constellation Hydra that symbolically represents the Nile River. This view from cir. 10,000 BC indicates the moment from which the Egyptians built the most elaborate calendric system.
