An original ballet performed to music derived from a three-dimensional model of the moon translated into a musical score by Andrew Kaiser. The Moon Ballet is an exploration of the never-ending attraction the moon has for the Earth (both literally and poetically). The Moon is portrayed as a beautiful yet unreachable woman with a highly decorative movement style inspired by Art Nouveau. The Earth is portrayed by four men representing the four elements (earth, air, fire and water) and employing a modern gravity-bound movement vocabulary in high contrast to the Moon figure. As the Moon rises to its greatest power, the Earth strives to affect her and though always failing, never gives up.
