The Moon Museum is a celebration of our creative capacity and an acknowledgment of the critical role our hands play in enabling us to express ourselves through language, sculpture, image making, and music. The image is arranged as a five hamsa symbols containing numerous artworks and creative artifacts. Interwoven are images of the Apollo 11, 12, 14, 15 and 16 landing sites on the Moon by Hap Griffin. The hamsa symbols contain 93 nano artworks representing the very smallest scale that humans are expressing meaning through art; a collection of 30 abstract figure-ground images by Carnegie Mellon Design students depicting various Earth-Moon relationships, and a collection of images celebrating “the hand” as artistic enabler.
